In the previous posts, I introduced how to create simple products, composite products, and manufacturing products. In this post, let’s talk about sales order related operations in StockControl.
Sales activities are the most important ones in business, it’s the source of the profit, it’s the realization of the business. Once you have a sale, it’s necessary to organize and record it in an appropriate way. StockControl can help you manage your sales activities and data easily.
Create a Sales Record
Creating sales records in StockControl is very easy and simple. Let’s do a walk-through now.
The above is the sales order form in StockControl. To create a sales order, please make sure:
- You have products for sales recorded in StockControl.
- You have customers recorded in StockControl.
- Carrier Information is optional, but it’s recommended to have one.
- If you want give discount to your customer, you also need create a price list in the system.
You can create a price list for your customers following the above screenshot, it’s a one-step operation. Here are steps to create a sales order:
- Select a Customer from the drop down list.
- Select Sales Order Date
- Select a Carrier from the drop down list
- Select a Price Rate (discount) from the drop down list if you decide to.
- Check or Uncheck the Tax Calculation Method
- Click Add Item to add sales item to the sales form
- Enter Qty to sold in the table’s Qty column on the sales form
- Select a tax rate in the table’s Tax Rate column if you have tax rate added.
- Click Save to record the sales to the system.

Sales Package and Shipments
Once a sales order was generated and approved in the system, you can move the the step of packaging sales items and ship the order to your customers. Click Add Package on the Package List Records Window, then
- Select the sales order for packaging.
- Select the warehouse where the sales items belong to.
- Enter the Qty to pack in the table’s Qty Column.
- Click Save.
After a package created, you can create a shipment for it or for many packages together. Click the Truck Icon:
- Select the customer where the shipment for
- Select the packages for the shipment from the drop down list
- Select a carrier from the drop down list.
- Enter the tracking number if you have one.
- Click Save.
Now the sales activities of your business was recorded completely in StockControl. The stock quantity of the sales product will be updated once the shipment recorded. You can check the stock movement on the inventory reports.
